Basic Training is available on a monthly basis at the Council Service Center in Orem (except in December).  Every new leader should take the online courses for 'Fast Start', 'This is Scouting' and 'Youth Protection' available at www.olc.scouting.org and their 'Leader Specific Training' course. It is preferred that you complete the online courses prior to attending this course, if possible. Leaders that have already taken 'This Is Scouting' (or the previous course 'New Leader Essentials') do not need to take This is Scouting. Any leader in a new Scouting position needs to complete 'Fast Start' and the 'Leader Specific Training course' for their new position.

This course is free of charge.  Boy Scout, Varsity, Venturing, & Commissioner have the option of either bringing their own lunch or purchasing a box lunch from Apple Spice Junction for $5.00.  (Lunch includes a Turkey sandwich, chips or salad, pickle spear, cookie and a bottle of water.)  Remember that purchasing lunch is optional.  There will not be time to go out for lunch, so please plan accordingly.

Leader Specific Training course times:

• Cub Scouts: 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Venturing: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• Unit Commissioners: 9:00 a.m. t0 3:00 p.m.
• Boy Scouts and Varsity: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Registrations are limited to 120 people.  Please register early!

This course is being hosted by Fort Utah District.

Due to the amount of preparation that will go into each participant’s registration and limited class size, preregistration is essential.  NO WALK-INS ACCEPTED.
